I’ve relayed this story once before, but I’ll repeat it for those who missed it. When picking the boys’ names, we had Boone early on. We had yet to even think of the name Wyatt and I kept pitching literary names because I’m a douchebag writer. One day I suggested the name Sawyer, arguing to my wife that it was the name of the most iconic character in American fiction. She countered that if we chose Boone and Sawyer, they’d both be named after characters from Lost.
