If You Love TV, Help Fund The First Real TV Festival

My friend KB is helping present a Television Festival. They’re close to reaching their funding goal on Kickstarter and every dollar helps. Go contribute or the terrorists win.

By the way, I’d help fund a TV festival even if my friend wasn’t involved.

The first real Television Festival!

Hey party people!

Don’t you love festival season? You have Sundance, Toronto, Germany, SXSW, Cannes…so many fun and exciting new films, parties, panels and talent. Have you noticed though, that there’s never any festivals that celebrate television? Well, that’s about to change!!

Welcome to ATX: A Television Festival. Over the first weekend in June in Austin, Tx (one of my favorite cities on the planet) you can go to events and interact with actors, writers, directors, creators, music supervisors, casting directors and studio executives involved in all stages of bringing your favorite series to the small screen.

I was graciously asked to join the advisory board which consists of people with resumes so impressive, it made me nervous. Such an honor. The line-up for screenings and events at the festival are equally as impressive. From the Friday Night Lights extravaganza to panels with your favorite actors, we’re even going to throw in some special cast reunions as well.

So here’s where you come in. We’re super close to meeting our Kickstarter goal and offering badges that will get you into the events at super discounted prices. We need these funds to do things like fly talent in so fans can meet them and pay for all those pesky permits. We’ve had a lot of support but we need more. Please contribute, even if it’s just a dollar, and show your support for your fellow TV junkies. Your generousity will not go unrewarded!

Please repost so we can spread the word! Thanks!

Yeah. Surfing & skiing here in Washington, too.

Now, wait a minute. I lived in Seattle for a while and I never heard of anybody surfing the Washington coast.

Although, I will admit I spent most of my time there in a depressed drunken haze, so I may have missed some stuff… like the entirety of 1999.

They went to a friend’s birthday party where the birthday girl’s uncle, Tony Shalhoub, was in attendance. Also, California is the only state in the country in which you can surf and ski on the same day.

Other than that, it’s pretty much all downside.

UPDATE: descantforhope says you can surf and ski in the same day in Oregon, too. So, just the Tony Shalhoub thing, I guess.

UPDATE 2: Well, cocoageek says you can do that on the big island in Hawaii as well. Why am I here again?
