About The Daddy Complex
I’m David Vienna, a professional writer and father of twin boys. Their names are Wyatt and Boone and, yes, they’re as awesome as you think.
They were born in 2008 and I spent almost two years as a work-at-home dad, a role for which I was woefully unprepared… not the work-at-home part. I had that down. It was the dad part… actually, I shouldn’t use past tense. I am woefully unprepared. Still. It’s quite shocking actually.
Anyway, they’re awesome, like I said. And I’m figuring it out. I chronicle the daily challenges, surprises and nervous breakdowns in various ways at The Daddy Complex. Some things people seem to like are:
- My original puppet Web series Fighting With Babies, in which a puppet version of me debates puppet versions of my sons.
- The fake conversations, in which an imaginary version of me debates imaginary versions of my sons. (If this sounds familiar, it’s because these serve as scripts for the Web series.)
- My semi-regular series Shit They Don’t Tell You About Fatherhood.
If there’s one thing I hope you take away from reading this blog it’s that I’ve handled much more poo than I’m comfortable with.
